Breathing is the one thing everyone does and almost nobody thinks about until it is taken from them. Climatic decided that blind spot was not a mystery, it was an opportunity hiding in plain air. New York based, born in May 2023, Climatic stepped out of stealth on January 28, 2026 with a $10 million seed round and a very specific conviction. Lung health should be a daily habit, not a crisis response.
The company was founded by Allie Melnick, the builder who helped take Flamingo from zero to more than $50 million in annual revenue and onto shelves at Target, Costco, and everywhere that mattered. In September 2024, Eric Kau joined as co founder after operating at Seed Health, BoxyCharm, Chewy, and Amazon. This is not a team guessing at consumer behavior. This is a team that has shipped, scaled, and stayed standing when the numbers started talking back.
Climatic’s first product is called L Max, and the name is not subtle. One daily deep breath designed to support the lungs’ natural cleaning system by improving mucociliary clearance. No prescription. All natural compounds. Built for daily use, not drama. In human in vivo research conducted with Mount Sinai Medical Center of Florida under Dr. Juan Sabater, L Max showed over 50 percent improvement in mucus clearance within minutes, with effects sustained across eight hours and replicated more than ten times. That is not vibes. That is data.
The science backbone runs through Dr. Dale Christensen, Chief Science Officer and Adjunct Associate Professor of Medicine at Duke University Medical Center. More than twenty years of respiratory and therapeutic development experience now pointed at prevention instead of reaction. A larger placebo controlled double blind randomized clinical trial is already underway, with results moving toward peer reviewed publication.
Athletes noticed first. In a five week trial, 98 percent reported easier breathing during workouts. Average time trial performance improved by six percent. Eighty percent saw heart rate variability gains within two weeks. Advisors include Tim O’Donnell and Matt Hanson, who understand that air is not a luxury input when performance is on the line.
The round was led by Lerer Hippeau, with participation from BBGV, Brand Foundry Ventures, Cade Ventures, Good Friends, and Space Station. All first institutional checks. All betting that lung health becomes as routine as sleep, nutrition, and recovery.
Late spring 2026 is the public launch. Until then, Climatic is asking a quieter question. If ninety nine percent of the world breathes air below recommended standards, what happens when someone finally builds for the breath itself, and treats it like the daily asset it has always been.
